About this test

Calculi (Kidney Stone) Risk Assessment is the full metabolic workup for people who form kidney stones — not just to analyse a stone that has passed, but to answer the only question that really matters: why did it form, and how do we stop the next one?

The assessment measures the stone-forming substances in your blood and 24-hour urine — calcium, uric acid, oxalate-related markers, and the protective factors like citrate that keep crystals dissolved. Roughly half of stone-formers form another within ten years without a prevention plan; the whole point of this panel is to build that plan on your own chemistry instead of generic advice.

The workup combines a blood draw with a 24-hour urine collection — our team guides you through the collection, picks up the completed sample, and delivers the consolidated report your urologist needs to prescribe targeted prevention.

Symptoms / who should book

  • Recurrent kidney stones
  • A stone episode in the past year
  • Blood in urine with flank pain
  • Family history of kidney stones
  • Stones despite drinking plenty of water

Questions

Ideally 4–6 weeks after the acute episode, once you are eating and drinking normally. Prevention built on this panel is what stops stone number two.
